What is Tuesday's Angels
What is Tuesday's Angels?
Tuesday's Angels is a nonprofit Section 501(c)3 Organization that provides funding on an emergency basis to
men, women and children with HIV/AIDS. One hundred percent of all dollars received by Tuesday's Angels go
directly to individuals or to selected organizations that have clients that have little or no income. People living with
HIV/AIDS are often unable to work and are frequently hospitalized. With proper documentation, assistance is
often given the same day.
What is the history of Tuesday's Angels?
Tuesday's Angels, Inc. began with a small group of men sharing a dinner on the first Tuesday of the month and
the "angels" attending contributed to help HIV/AIDs clients in need. We were incorporated as a nonprofit in 1993
and now we have over 400 angels.
What does Tuesday's Angels fund?
The Organization pays for a variety of emergency living expenses incurred by its clients. This includes rent,
electric or water bills, transportation, eyeglasses, and other basic needs.
Who funds Tuesday's Angels?
The Organization consists of over four hundred 'angels', many of whom attend our dinner meetings that are
scheduled on the first Tuesday of the Month. Each 'angel' is requested to make a contribution at each dinner.
There are many other organizations and businesses that make contributions and host fundraising events
throughout the year. Our community has and continues to be very generous and caring. Major sources of income
come from the 100% Solution Bike Ride for Life, The Celebration of Friends, and The Bartenders, Boxers, and
Briefs Auction.
What are our major fundraisers?
Today our dinners are just one of our fundraising sources. For the past 11 years, we have been the fortunate
recipient of the 100% Solution Bike Ride for Life's proceeds and more recently, we have received very generous
donations from major events such as A Celebration of Friends and The Bartenders, Boxers, and Briefs Auction. In
addition, there are numerous other fundraising events by local businesses, individuals, and grants. The 2010 list of
major donors is listed on our Angel Society page.
Why are there few expenses?
There are very few expenses in running our organization due to low overhead from working out of our homes so
that office expenses aren't incurred and having no full time staff, simply a very part time bookkeeper. Board
Members and interest income cover all these expenses.
